What type of concrete do you use?
At DLH Designs we use both Wet Cast Concrete and Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete, or GFRC as it is commonly referred to. We highly recommend GFRC for all benchtop projects as it is superior to wet cast concrete in both strength and durability. GFRC is far less likely to crack than Wet Cast and lends itself to a different manufacturing process, resulting in products that are much lighter in weight.
How much does a concrete benchtop cost? Why should I use concrete rather than stone?
Cost-wise, concrete bench tops are comparable to stone. Cost will vary due to the mould making process and the complexity of the design.
There are several advantages to using concrete over stone. Concrete is completely customisable, meaning you can have a long benchtop or waterfall ends without the need for joins. Sinks can be cast into concrete, as can logos or other lettering. Concrete is available in many different colours and finishes. Best of all, your project is manufactured, start to finish locally. And, due to the natural variances of concrete, every project is unique.
How long will my project take?
Lead times are between 4 – 8 weeks, depending on the complexity of your project and our workload.
If you are considering placing an order but are still undecided we would recommend you contact us to discuss your needs. We can reserve a time slot for your project while you make your decision, allowing us to reduce lead time.
Do you just do concrete?
Not at all!
At DLH Designs we can coordinate entire projects. Some of our projects include:
- Outdoor Kitchens
- Hearths and Gas Log Fires
- Indoor and Outdoor Furniture
I have a project in mind but I am not sure if you can help. How can I get more information?
